My journey into art began in childhood, deeply influenced by my grandmother. What began as simple notebook doodles soon developed into something more. This included my bedroom wall which was a short-lived but remembered masterpiece. Experimenting with different mediums, Iā€™m drawn to intense bold colors and exaggerated features, yet still appreciate the simplicity of a basic sketch. My primary focus, however, is on ceramics. Creating works with clay is a uniquely satisfying experience, as I get to explore forms and textures in a way that feels really intuitive. My work is often influenced by the playful energy of pop culture and the rawness of the natural world. It celebrates the imperfection of this life. Something I struggle with at times is trying to make things perfect. They aren't and working with clay really helps me work through that. It's messy, it's intense, and damn I love it. Nature moves me and people inspire me. I love gazing up, each day offers its own unique palette. Much like our changing moods, some days are so vibrant while others can be quite grey. In a dark moment, laughter is thought to be the best medicine, so adding humor to my artwork feels therapeutic in a way. We all seek balance and things are never what we anticipate. Dodging life's punches isn't always an easy task. Sometimes head on is the only option, forcing an internal review, and release of emotional creativity. - Amy
